This is a simple top-down top with a large collar. The contrast is between the fabric of the torso and that of the collar.
• Top down, seamless – try on as you go
• Customizable – add stitches if you want a looser fit; add shaping, make the collar longer or shorter; use different yarns of the same colour for the collar and the torso or use different colours – you name it!
You can use other yarns as long as you get the gauge. Drops (Garnstudio) has a handy grouping of its yarns. Yarns from the same group can be substituted for each other. Cotton Viscose belongs to group A. Many manufacturers produce cotton or cotton-rayon blend of the same weight (50 g/110-130 m). If you wish, use mohair or cotton for the torso. Or use alpaca or merino for a more solid, wintery look. As for the collar, you can use practically any Sport or DK yarn as long as it is gives falling, draping fabric. The gauge for the collar is not critical.
Torso: Cotton Viscose (540-840 m)
Collar: Cotton Stretch (Katia), 50 g/170 m, held double (200-220 m).
Bust circumference (cm): S (76), M (86.5), L (100.5), XL (111). Top has some negative ease!
I recommend several pairs of circular needles so that when you want to try on, you can work a part of the round with another pair of circular needles.
