This cardigan is worked bottom up flat in one piece, then separated for the front and back panels at the underarm. Koselig is a drop shoulder design, and the sleeves are worked bottom up seamlessly in the round. The ribbing at the body and sleeve hems, as well as the buttonband are worked in 1 × 1 twisted ribbing, followed by a Latvian braid using the main colour and contrast colour. The body and sleeves are worked in Reverse Stockinette Stitch. Once body and sleeves are finished, a 3-Needle Bind-Off is used to close the shoulder seam, then stitches are picked up along the entire edge of the centre front and another Latvian braid and ribbing is worked as the buttonband. The optional colourwork chart on the top of the shoulders is worked half on the front of the cardigan and half on the back, then seamed with a 3-Needle Bind-Off to create the shoulder seam.
