Digital chart and instructions in English (US terms) for creating the Kraken pattern in mosaic crochet. This pattern use the overlay mosaic crochet technique.

The Kraken pattern includes instructions for a pillow, and a bag with button closure and fringe details. You can crochet the Kraken flat with border stitches, or in the round, and you can even repeat the charts to create table runners, blankets, apparel, and more. This mythological giant octopus/squid design is great for summer projects or for adding a bold nautical element to your decor. Release the Kraken!!

These projects feature custom hand-dyed yarn by Yarrrn Matey in “Treacherous Waters” (tonal navy blue) worsted weight 100% merino wool. This distressed-denim colorway works well as a background for creating rough seas, and as the main color for the Kraken.
This custom yarn is available and ready to ship for a limited time only at www.yarrrnmatey.com

This is an intermediate to advanced mosaic crochet pattern. The pattern is chart based and NOT written row by row. These charts have several special stitches, and each pattern includes a detailed photo tutorial of those stitches. If you’re new to mosaic crochet there are links to video tutorials within the pattern to help teach you the technique and how to read a chart pattern.
