Criss-Cross Applesauce is a term that most preschoolers know. Another, possibly more familiar term, is ‘Indian Style’. It’s the way that many of us sit on the floor; knees out, feet tucked under opposing thighs. It’s a rather comfortable position and takes us back to simpler times.
Kris-Cross Apple Sauce is a simple, bandanna-style cowl that employs the Indian Cross Stitch in several ways. It is knit flat and then seamed after blocking.

While any Fingering weight yarn will do, the Pattern sample was knit using the Sweet Georgia Prismatic Mini-mini box set in 7 colors, for a total of about 300 yards. If color blocks don’t bring you joy, knit in a single color and add the alternate ending for a bit of flair.

A US3 needle is suggested, but this designer is a loose knitter, you may need to swatch!
