Kuben, the German word for “cubes,” is a large rectangular shawl and an absolutely timeless design. This project gains its fascination by the vertical repetition of a three-dimensional lace pattern and is inspired by modern architectural shapes, based on simple cubes. After knitting the pattern repeatedly you will start to memorize the pattern and knitting becomes more contemplative. And finally, when you block this lovely design, you’ll notice it’s in fact a skyscraper!
