This amigurumi pattern is fairly beginner-friendly but may be a little challenging for new beginners as it includes shell stitches to create the scalloped edges of this amigurumi.

The amigurumi consists of 2 parts, the top and base, which are stitched together.

The finished amigurumi (2mm hook) measures around 3.5cm by 3.3cm by 1.5cm, but may vary depending on the hook size, yarn and crochet tension. It can also be made with a 2.5mm hook but the finished size will be slightly larger.

This amigurumi was inspired by the kueh bangkit, a local cookie from Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. This fragrant, melt-in-the-mouth cookie is highly popular in our region and is a sweet staple in every household during festive occasions such as Chinese New Year and Hari Raya.
