Kulshan features a sideways-knit band of single honeycomb cables, joined with a functional button band for versatility of styling. Stitches are picked up to work the oversize crown in the round in fisherman’s rib, and a large pompon finishes the top. The construction makes it easy to tailor the size to desired measurements and to adapt the hat for different yarn weights.

The fisherman’s rib is worked on a needle a couple of sizes smaller; gauge for this section is given separately. The pompon may be worked with a contrast color held together with the main yarn, as in the sample. Four 1/2” buttons join the brim of the hat.
