Kuro the Skeleton Cat
Kuro is the cutest skeleton cat on the block! By using simple stitches combined with embroidery this little skeleton cat comes to life.
This pattern is an easy design to make and uses US terminology. A knowledge of how to crochet is essential as it does not teach you how to crochet, it simply provides instructions for you to make the toy.
Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished item. My Kuro is approx. 15cm tall (6 inches).
You will need:
- 3.50mm hook (size D/3 US)
- 10ply yarn (Worsted / Aran) > 50g BLACK, less than 50g in WHITE, RED and SALMON
- BLACK and WHITE 4ply yarn or embroidery thread
- A pair of 10mm safety eyes
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Polyester toy stuffing
- Stitch marker (optional)
Notes:
- Amigurumi is usually worked in the round and a yarn with no stretch is best.
- Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
- I’ve used Hobbii Friends Cotton 8/8 in the following yarns: o WHITE = colour 01 White o BLACK = colour 123 Charcoal o RED = colour 40 Tomato o SALMON = colour 51 Baby Pink
