This ethnographic mitten is from the Nica Region of the District of Kurzeme, Latvia. The cuff begins with a picot edge and uses three and four colors in the cuff. The upper mitten is knit with three to seven colors contemporaneously. Mittens from Nica are typically quite colorful with complex charts.

Nica is located south of Liepaja, Latvia near the Baltic Sea.
