This pattern is named for Stephanie Kwolek, brilliant scientist for DuPont who invented Kevlar. This genius woman thought to spin a thin and slippery liquid into fibers, and as a result discovered one of the strongest materials known.

The gauntlets themselves aren’t intended to be made of Kevlar, though they do incorporate a novel approach to constructing fingerless gloves.
