This is a pattern for lace turtleneck scarf. The turtleneck section guarantees that you’ll stay warm in the winter, while allowing the stitch work to be highly visible. The focal stitch comes to us from Japan, and features a unique lace stitch which naturally scallops on both the sides and bottom. If you haven’t tried one of these Japanese type stitches, you’ll enjoy both making and wearing this scarf, as the combination of these stitches is truly special.

Skill level: Intermediate (assuming good basic knitting skills and ability to work well with cables.)

The focal stitch is both charted and written out line by line. There are also instructions for an optional crocheted edging, should you want to edge it.

The sample was expertly pattern tested by Cathy B, who can be contacted at: hooksandstitcks@gmail.com., and is made using Lorna’s Laces Sport Weight Yarn, undyed.
