La Regina degli Elfi means “The Queen of Elves” in italian. This name was given to the pattern by a friend, when she saw me wearing this sweater.
The sweater is a top-down seamless raglan featuring an intricate and asymmetric lace pattern on the left side. The raglan construction and the lace were thought for a very long color changes yarn (as in the photos), but it can be worked also in a solid color, and my testers surprised me with very good results in semisolid and even variegated yarns.
The hem, collar and sleeve cuffs are worked in a traditional estonian-russian pattern, that match beautifully with the asymmetric lace . Collar and sleeve cuff are worked in a different, milder yarn, to give extra softness on these delicate parts of the body. On the final rows of collar and sleeves some beads are worked to add a little sparkle to the sweater.
