✿ “The most beautiful thing I have ever made”

This lace overall and bonnet set is so dainty and sweet, a soft look to welcome a new little one. One of my pattern testers said, “this is the most beautiful thing I have ever made.”

A mesh lace trim is worked right into the crochet with a tiny hook. Many craft stores carry mesh lace trim 3.5” wide or wider (mine came from Hobby Lobby).

✨ What makes it work

• Overall and bonnet. A matching set.
• Lace trim. Mesh lace attached with a tiny hook.
• Fitted shape. Go up a hook size if you crochet tight.
• Tester favorite. Loved by the people who made it first.

✂️ What you’ll need

• Yarn: Lace, Patons, in Vintage Antique, 185 yds. The colorful set uses Melody Superwash Fingering, Jojoland, which has lots of stretch
• Hooks: I (5.5mm) · 1.5mm steel hook for attaching the trim
• Tools: Darning Needle · Scissors
• To finish like the sample: Mesh lace trim, approx. 4” x 4” (mesh lets your hook work through the small holes) · Ribbon for bonnet ties if desired

✿ Sizes

• Overalls, laid flat: 13” long x 6.5” wide
• Bonnet: 5.5” deep x 5” tall

• Skill level: Intermediate
• Gauge: 15 sts and 16 rows = 4” x 4” in single crochet. If you crochet tight, go up a hook size, as these are more fitted · gauge help
