My favorite winter accessory may be my hot water bottle. Sadly, until this winter my hotties went around the house uncovered. The plain red rubber was certainly not very cozy or cuddly, but it was very effective at providing warmth. In fact, after knitting up a worsted weight cozy, I wanted more heat! So I pulled out some fingering weight wool and worked up a quick lacy cover (the back side is solid stockinette stitch). Now I have cuddly, very warm, and stylish cover for my hottie.

Surprisingly, as I finished knitting this piece, I realized that my iPad is about the same size as a hot water bottle. That means, this cozy fits both my hot water bottle and my iPad, though be warned it likely does not provide a great deal of protection for your iPad, it will sure look pretty!

The pattern is available as a full pattern through my Ravelry store, and I have also made the lace chart available for free on my blog post describing this project. For the more adventurous knitter, feel free to make your own free form cozy at a custom gauge using this resource.
