✿ “The most beautiful thing I have ever made”

This knit lace overall and bonnet set is so dainty and sweet, a soft look to welcome a new little one. One of my pattern testers said, “this is the most beautiful thing I have ever made.”

A mesh lace trim is attached with a tiny crochet hook. Many craft stores carry mesh lace trim 3.5” wide or wider (mine came from Hobby Lobby).

✨ What makes it work

• Overall and bonnet. A matching set.
• Lace trim. Mesh lace attached with a tiny hook.
• DPNs or magic loop. Plus straights for the flat pieces.
• Tester favorite. Loved by the people who made it first.

✂️ What you’ll need

• Yarn: Lace, Patons, in Vintage Antique, or a 2 weight yarn, approx. 140 yds
• Needles: US 10 (6.0mm) DPNs or circular needles for magic loop · US 10 (6.0mm) straight needles
• Hook: 1.5mm steel hook for attaching the trim
• Tools: Stitch Marker · Stitch holder · Row counter · Sewing needle · Scissors
• To finish like the sample: Mesh lace trim, approx. 4” x 4” (mesh lets your hook work through the small holes)
