This is unikatissima’s Lace Knitters Advent Calendar 2013

Knit a beautiful Estonian lace inspired shawl on the 24 days of Advent, every day a little bit.
In case that you don’t need a shawl simply make it a tablerunner :)

unikatissima's Lace Knitters Advent Calendar 2013 begins (of course! ;-)) Dec 1, 2013, but you can get already information about the pattern and the finished items I knitted in my blog.

I have uploaded now all pattern files to ravelry. All English daily instruction files are named unikatissima_lace_wintersweet_e_dd, where dd is the day. Additionally you can find a file for the instructions for the placemat which is named unikatissima_lace_wintersweet_e_pm and a file unikatissima_lace_wintersweet_e_symbols_abbr containing the list of symbols and abbreviations.

Addendum of Dec 30, 2013: Stefanotis devised a little eyelet border to prevent the scarf from curling.

About the pattern:

This year the pattern is designed lengthwise symmetrical and not meant to be repeated in height but its width is variable.
The pattern is
* a multiple of 12 + 19 stitches including edge stitches and
* the total length are 438 rows.
If you want
* to make it broader/narrower simply adjust the number of repeats;
* to make it shorter
  – use smaller needles and/or
  – finer yarn and/or
  – knit less loose;
* to make it longer
  – use larger needles and/or
  – thicker yarn and/or
  – knit more loose.

About the finished items:

Please bear in mind: the size always depends on your gauge and also on the way you knit – I’m always knitting very loosely.

For the tablerunner/shawl (red) I
* knitted 5 repeats with
* about 290 m/318 yards red cotton crochet thread (100 g ca. 580 m/635 yards)
* 3,5 mm needles (US between 3 and 5) and
* got a tablerunner of about 25 x 130 cm (about 10 x 51 inches).

Depending on my daily energie I knitted a daily pattern section in appr. 25 min.

For every placemat (red) I
* knitted about 140 m/153 yards red cotton crochet thread (100 g ca. 580 m/635 yards) with
* 3,5 mm needles (US between 3 and 5) and
* got placemats of about 27 x 39 cm (about 11 x 15 inches).

I knitted a placemat in appr. 3 hours 25 min.

For the shawl (rose) I
* knitted 5 repeats with
* about 441 m/483 yards rose acrylic lace yarn (100 g ca. 900 m/985 yards) with
* 4 mm needles (US 5-6) and
* got a shawl of about 37 x 124 cm (about 15 x 49 inches).

Depending on my daily energie I knitted a daily pattern section in appr. 40 min.

For the scarf (bordeaux) I
* knitted 2 repeats with
* about 606 m/663 yards acrylic yarn (200 g ca. 665 m/727 yards) (yarn weight similar to sock yarn) with
* 4 mm needles (US 5-6) and
* got a scarf of about 22 x 165 cm (about 9 x 65 inches).

Depending on my daily energie I knitted a daily pattern section in appr. 20 min.

Note: The scarf was knitted with an early (and not so beautiful ;-)) version of the pattern. The number of stitches/rows is however the same.

Dies ist unikatissimas Strick-Lochmuster-Adventskalender 2013

Strick’ an den 24 Tagen des Advents ein wunderschönes Tuch, das von Estnischer Spitze inspiriert ist, jeden Tag ein kleines Stück.
Solltest Du kein Tuch brauchen, mach’ einfach einen Tischläufer draus :)

Nachtrag vom 30. Nov. 2013: Cathri war so freundlich, uns Diagramme zur Verfügung zu stellen, die uns zeigen, wo wir Perlen setzen können. Du findest die Perlendiagramme links in der Bildliste.

Nachtrag vom 30. Dez. 2013: Stefanotis hat ein kleines Loch-Randmuster entworfen, um zu verhindern, dass der Schal sich einrollt.

Über das Muster:

Dieses Jahr ist das Muster längs symmetrisch designed und nicht gemeint, um in der Höhe wiederholt zu werden, aber seine Breite ist variabel.

* ein Vielfaches von 12 + 19 Maschen inklusive Randmaschen und
* die Gesamtlänge sind 438 Reihen.
Wenn Du es
* breiter/schmaler machen möchtest, ändere einfach die Anzahl Wiederholungen;
* kürzer machen möchtest,
  – verwende eine kleinere Nadelstärke und/oder
  – feineres Garn und/oder
  – stricke fester;
* länger machen möchtest,
  – verwende eine größere Nadelstärke und/oder
  – dickeres Garn und/oder
  – stricke lockerer.

Über die fertigen Stücke:

Bitte vergiss‘ nicht: die Größe hängt immer von Deiner Maschenprobe und Deiner Art zu stricken ab – ich stricke immer sehr lose.

Für den Tischläufer/das Tuch (rot) habe ich
* 5 Mustersätze mit
* ungefähr 290 m rotes Baumwollgarn (100 g ca. 580 m) mit
* 3,5 mm Nadeln verstrickt und
* bekam einen Tischläufer von ungefähr 25 x 130 cm.

Abhängig von meiner täglichen Energie habe ich einen täglichen Musterabschnitt in etwa 25 Min gestrickt.

Für jedes Platzset (rot) habe ich
* ungefähr 140 m rotes Baumwollgarn (100 g ca. 580 m) mit
* 3,5 mm Nadeln verstrickt und
* bekam Platzsets von ungefähr 27 x 39 cm.

Ich habe ein Platzset in etwa 3 Std 25 Min gestrickt.

Für das Tuch (rosafarben) habe ich
* 5 Mustersätze mit
* ungefähr 441 m rosafarbenes Acryl Lace Garn (100 g ca. 900 m) mit
* 4 mm Nadeln verstrickt und
* bekam ein Tuch von ungefähr 37 x 124 cm.

Abhängig von meiner täglichen Energie habe ich einen täglichen Musterabschnitt in etwa 40 Min gestrickt.

Für den Schal (bordeauxfarben) habe ich
* 2 Mustersätze mit
* ungefähr 606 m Acryl Garn (200 g ca. 665 m) (Garndicke ähnlich Sockengarn) mit
* 4 mm Nadeln verstrickt und
* bekam einen Schal von ungefähr 22 x 165 cm.

Abhängig von meiner täglichen Energie habe ich einen täglichen Musterabschnitt in etwa 20 Min gestrickt.

Hinweis: Den Schal habe ich mit einer frühen (und nicht so schönen ;-)) Version des Musters gestrickt. Die Anzahl Maschen/Reihen ist jedoch dieselbe.
