Lacey Art Yarn Mohair Shawl
The Lacey Art Yarn Shawl is a combination of 2 opposite yarns. The mohair which is soft, flowing and lacey with a chunky art yarn adding another texture. This shawl is definitely an ‘eye catcher’ when worn.
The size is a free size as it is worn draped around the shoulders.
The knit is unusual as you will be knitting with a very fine mohair normally designed for smaller needles on large needle gauge of 8mm.
I have used indie dyer mohair as I support local spinners and dyers, however any commercial kid silk mohair fingering gauge will work and achieve the same desired effect.
The art yarn I also source locally. I recommend Mynoush Yarns, Anna Gratton pearl yarn, and Pretty Twisted knots. Both are independent spinners and dyers. There are many others.
In the mohair you will require a skein of 400metres and art yarn approximately 80 metres.
The shawl pictured is in Sally Ridgeway kid silk and Anna Gratton pearl.
I have made these in many colours totally dependent on colours i could source and combine together.
I do hope you enjoy knitting your own Lacey Art Yarn & Mohair shawl.
