LACEY_LOOP_ROLLNECK – a sweater with a loose fit, rollneck with a unique finish and lovely detailing of purl stripes and a feminine eyelet pattern.

The sweater is worked from top to bottom. First stitches are cast on for the back piece, which is worked back and forth with German Short Rows to shape the upper back. Then stitches are picked up along the shoulder edge and the shoulders are worked back and forth individually. The two shoulders are then joined for the front piece by casting on stitches mid-front. The front piece and back piece are then joined, and the body is worked in the round and finished with a ribbing edge and Italian bind off. Stitches for the neckband are picked up around the neck opening and the neck is worked in the round in ribbing and finished with eyelets and purl stripes. Stitches are picked up for the sleeves around the armhole and the sleeves are worked in the round. Stripes of purl stitches and eyelets are worked according to a chart throughout the whole sweater. The first part of the pattern describes the chart row-for-row.
