“Lacey” is my cat. I thought it would be good to name a lace sweater pattern after her as she loves knitting so much.

I have had fun playing with Japanese stitch patterns which are featured as a single vertical panel on front and back of the sweater. The ribbing is also patterned and reflects some elements of the lace panel. These patterns appear complex however they are mostly symmetrical and repetitive so that once you get into the rhythm the knitting is easy.

This sweater has a round neckline, set-in sleeves and waist shaping. The sleeves are generously sized and the shoulders have a classic fit with no positive ease. Knitted it in a sport weight yarn it is a lightweight versatile piece.

The pattern instructions are in paragraph style. The lace sections are charted only.
I have made Youtube Videos to explain the ribbing pattern as well as the p2tog tbl.

3.25 mm (US 3) circular knitting needles at least 40 cm in length, for the neckband you could use a longer circular needle to knit in the round with the continuous loop method.
3.75 mm (US 5) circular knitting needles at least 40 cm in length.

Gauge: 24 stitches and 33 rows to 10 cm (4 inches) in stocking stitch, using 3.75 mm needles or size needed to achieve this gauge.
