From the text: This pretty shrug-style cardigan will make you feel wonderfully feminine. This is perfect for pulling on en route to the nursery or in the small hours of the night.  Layer it over a t-shirt, team it will jeans, or wear it with a delicate slip for a vintage look. Here it has been knitted in a medium-weight mercerised cotton, but this design would also work well in a soft cotton or pure wool. Knitted in a simply lacy pattern with a deep v-neckline, rib welt, and flared cuffs, there are no buttons or buttonholes; instead, the eyelets are threaded with wide satin ribbon that is tied into a floppy bow. A perfect piece for a new mom, both before and after baby is born.

Also available as “Strawberry Smoothie” in Simply Knitting 16, June 2006:

“This classic empire-line style has been popular with women over the world for centuries, and it’s easy to see why - the shape is pretty, flattering and easy to wear. The cardigan nips you in at your most slender part and then flows down from this point covering a multitude of sins and making any figure look sleek and feminine.” (Simply Knitting 16, p16)
