A Tunisian crocheted shrug, inspired by the shrug Claire wore in the first season of Outlander. A simple rectangular construction, this shrug crocheted in Aran weight yarn, provides the deep texture that is a signature of many of the knitted pieces from the show. No one knows where Tunisian crochet originated, but it is thought that it came from either Scandinavia or Scotland. In French, Tunisian crochet can be called Tricot Ecossais, which translates literally to Scottish Knitting.
Design Gauge: Working in pattern (alternating rows of Trs and Tks), 8 stitches and 8 rows equals 3”x3”.
