Wearing a mask with elastic straps for hours on end can cause extreme irritation and spectacle wearers often find their glasses do not sit properly on their ears when wearing a mask. This simple device allows the wearer to hook the elastic over the buttons taking the pressure off the ears without lessening the benefits of the mask. They can be used with both reusable fabric masks and the disposable clinical masks.

These were designed for use in a non clinical setting so any double knitting yarn that can be laundered in a washing machine is suitable - I have chosen acrylic for easy care purposes but cotton or a blend would also be suitable.

The length of the Ear Saver can be altered for children by casting on less stitches and the Saver becomes adjustable with the placement and addition of the buttons
