Lady Edith, is the underdog of Downton Abbey, the journalist, the one who won’t take any backtalk. She’s Sharon From Security’s favorite, along with the Dowager Countess Grantham (see The Countess of Grantham Hat that was also published for Downton Abbey fans.)

This begins with rib, and two lace patterns that are reminiscent of some of the tiaras and headdresses that Lady Edith wore. This cowl is delicate and is accompanied by a Sharon From Security version at the end of the pattern (even if your Sharon is a dog, you can still figure it out cos SFS insisted.)

Any mohair and fingering weight yarn will do just fine.

Requires
375 yards of fingering weight yarn
10g mohair (these usually come in 50g hanks.)
Shown in Emma’s Yarn Practically Perfect Sock in Glamping and Marvelous Mohair in Ice Ice Baby.

This is good for an advanced beginning knitter who has done a bit of lace. I always remind people that want to learn lace to place markers between each repeat. There are no charts.
