Æthelflæd was known as the Lady of the Mercians, ruling the kingdom of Mercia from 911 until her death in 918, aged approx. 48 years.

This pattern is designed to be inserted into my Foundation Socks comprehensive basic sock pattern, so you need to have a copy of that first (this is how I will be designing further patterns too) - saves on excessive printing and cost.

You can adapt the number of pattern repeats if you want shorter or longer socks. Personalised socks are never boring!
