A beaded lace crescent inspired by Lady Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham, Maggie Smith’s character in Downton Abbey.

Knit on 3.25mm/US3 needles with colorshiftyarn violet to midnight colorbridge set, 154g/697yds/640m. The yarn was dyed specially for this pattern.

Unfortunately, ColorShift is currently unavailable and would appear to be discontinued. If you are looking for substitute yarns, ColorShift Yarn is described in the Etsy Store as a two-ply jumper weight (fingering) yarn milled from 23.5 micron superwash Merino wool that knits up at about 8 st/in on US1-2 needles (2.25-2.75mm). There is a Gorgeous Gradients group here on Ravelry which might be a good starting point for substitute gradient yarns, and you can click on the “yarn ideas” tab above to see what yarns have been used in Ravelry projects.

Finished dimensions after blocking and unpinning: 70in wide and 21in deep at center back.

159 size 6 gold glass beads and 176 size 6 colored glass beads are added using a 1mm crochet hook.
66 gold beads are added to the side edges while working the charts. 84 colored beads are added to the body of the shawl in Chart F. 93 gold beads and 92 colored beads are added during the bind off.

The pdf contains 6 charts and short written instructions.
