This collection offers a great way to explore color design with yarn. Treat yourself to swatching and learning, or head out and knit the projects you always knew you could make if you only had a good selection of colors in the same yarn. Perfect for mitten, sock and tam knitting, ideal for needlepoint. Comes with the all of my tam patterns and tam tips sheet.

Eight color bridges give you a total of 64 earth and sky colors from woodlands to chaparral, seashore to meadow, sunset to dawn. The two-ply jumper weight (fingering) yarn, which knits up at about 8 st/in on US 1-2 needles, is milled exclusively for ColorShift from 23.5 micron superwash Merino wool. (Don’t be confused by the Ravelry designation above of “4-ply” which simply refers to the way fingering weight is termed in some countries, regardless of the number of plies. This yarn has two plies, and I have no control over the Ravelry choices of terms.) Each ball of color is approximately 40 yards/36.5 meters. The total amount of yarn is 2560 yards/2340 meters.

The color bridges are: Violet to Shell, Orchid to Botanical Green, Hollywood Cerise to Violet, Violet to Midnight, Midrange Violet to Aqua, Olive to Tea Rose, Botanical Green to Clay, Sun to Shade.

The set comes in two layers of center pull balls tucked into a re-closeable cardboard box. If you thread the working end of the bottom colors to the top layer, you can pull off what you need as you design from both layers.
