Materials
- yarn - Craft Smart Value (it’s a medium weight, the same as red heart or most value acrylics) each ball is 354
yards/7oz. I used 1 ball of red, one ball of black and one ball of white.
- crochet hook (mine is 6.5mm but you can use whatever yarn and hook size, just make sure your gauge swatch
matches my gauge swatch on page 10)

• 1/2 yard of red fleece
• 1 yard of black fleece
• scissors
• needle and thread (in red, black and white)
• wire and wire cutters (I used 19 gauge and doubled it up)
• hockey tape (any colour)
• hot glue gun
• polyfil (I use a lot of it because I like a firm ladybird)

Materials for the backpack (optional)

• 2 zippers (mine are 12” but you can use smaller ones, 14” is the maximum I recommend)
• 4 swivel clips (this is extra optional but a great addition if you want removable straps)
• 1.5 yards of nylon strap
