Fans of the History Channel show Vikings know Lagertha to be one of the toughest and most compelling women on TV today (or ever). This cowl is inspired by the shield she bears.

The Cowl is designed in two weights--a Worsted Weight Cowl worn singly, and a Sport Weight Cowl that can be worn singly or doubled.

The Worsted Weight Cowl flares at the bottom and tapers for a nicer fit. It is purposefully made tall so that the excess will fold inwards and the right side will show from all angles. It is knit at about 4 stitches to the inch. it takes between 200-250 yards of yarn--perfect for showing off those spectacular single skeins.

The Sportweight cowl is knit at about 6.5 stitches to the inch and takes about 425 yards of a sport weight yarn.
