The Laguna cardigan is an open-front, hip-length design featuring a staggered fern lace pattern that transitions into a classic flower lace pattern, inspired by the change from winter to spring in the canyons surrounding Laguna Beach. It’s just the right weight for transitional seasons making it the perfect grab and go for daily wear!

This drop-shoulder cardigan is knitted from the bottom up. First building the main body all in one piece, then separating into two front panels and one large back panel. The shoulders are then seamed using 3 needle bind-off and the sleeves are picked up in the round and worked down to the cuff. To finish the button band, stitches are picked up along the front for the final ribbing. Once you are comfortable with the lace patterns this is overall a simple and enjoyable knit!

This pattern is best suited for confident beginners and beyond.
