I’m excited to be sharing my bag pattern, which was an idea come to fruition during the 2023 summer sailing season on the great waters of Lake Champlain!

This is a fun bag to crochet and includes both traditional and overlay mosaic crochet techniques. Working in the round using 5 different colors will result in endless possibilities for creating your very own unique bag that you will want to make over and over again!

The pattern has been fully tested and includes detailed written instructions for all parts, along with a chart for the mosaic portion of the bag. Many reference photos are included as well.

Before embarking on this project, you may want to familiarize yourself with the basics of overlay mosaic crochet if this technique is new to you. It would make a great project for an advanced beginner looking to try mosaic crochet, and once you understand the basics, would be an appropriate project to try.

Suggested Yarn: I like to use 100% mercerized cotton because of its strength and durability. You will need 5 different colors in any yarn of your choice, and would even make a fantastic stash busting project. If using acrylics, you may wish to consider lining your bag for reduced stretch.

Gauge: Crochet gauge is not essential to this design and will vary from person to person depending on yarn used, hook size and tension of each individual.

Stitches Used:
