The inspiration for this sweater comes from Lake Geneva, a beautiful lake in southern Wisconsin with stately old mansions and a long nautical tradition. The velvet ribbon lacing, raglan shaping and broken ribbing evoke the summer boating season on the lake while the ruffled sleeves represent the soft evening breezes.

The sweater is worked in the round seamlessly from the bottom up to the underarms. The sleeves are worked from the ruffled cuff up the underarms. The three pieces are then joined and worked back and forth to the top. Stitches are then picked up along the neck opening and finished with an I-cord edging.
