Lake Superior can be dramatic and impressive, but this shawl is inspired by the calm days. With a soft mohair knitted in stockinette between growing garter stitch sections, this subtly textured shawl is designed to mimic quiet, calm ridges of light playing on the water.

The pattern begins as a diamond knit in the round, but the length of the shawl is knit flat and radiates like ripples from the central point.

Yarn Requirements:

  • 2 skeins Madeline Tosh Merino Light or 200g of fingering weight yarn with similar yardage
  • 1 skein Rowan Kidsilk Haze Colour or 50g of similar laceweight mohair blend.

Note on yarn color: The “Lakeside” colorway of MadelineTosh Merino Light that I used is a Yarn Harbor exclusive colorway! Yarn Harbor is a delightful local yarn store in Duluth, MN. Check out their online store to find the special colorway here: https://yarnharborduluth.com/
