This sweet little blanket makes both a perfect carseat blankie and play mat for tummy time, and will delight small children with its touchable textures! Sporadic short rows, detailed in the pattern, are scattered along the edge to help prevent the garter from stretching out, and this is a great first project for those who have never attempted short rows before.

Worked in the Th’red Head yarn used for the sample, you will need just one skein of yarn. Marci is a talented dyer local to my hometown, whose affordable yarns can be purchased through my LYS, The Studio Knitting & Needlepoint. Just give them a call at 816.531.4466 and they’ll be happy to tell you what colors are in stock!
