Lalang is a modern tee/pullover with microstripes and a satisfying, top down contiguous construction. The gauge is intentionally loose, so that you can substitute any lace, fingering, or sport weight yarn. Have fun with modifying yarn combinations for the stripes, or make the whole piece in one colour. Suggestions for yarn substitutions are provided in the pattern.

Lalang has a modified drop shoulder fit, with shaping at the armholes. The shoulder drop should hit at about mid-forearm on all sizes. You begin by knitting back and forth to slightly shape the neckline. Before too long, you join in the round and increase to shape the shoulders. The front and back are knit flat, and the body is knitted in the round. Optional sleeves are picked up and knitted in the round. Neat garter hems finish the piece.

Difficulty level: Advanced beginner. Pattern involves increases and striping/carrying yarn up your work.
