This is a scarf I made up to clear my stash of scraps that were not big enough for anything else.

You can use anything you want in it. It’s super simple and looks great.

Knitted in the round (inside out, knitting with the needle tips on the circle away from you.) with an applied i-cord finish.

I use a 40cm fixed circular for this.

I knit shawls, so all my scraps and half balls were from yarn that would usually be knit with a 3-4mm needle.
It should be really easy to adapt to whatever weight most of your scraps are though.

The first one I made I didn’t weigh or take note of how much went into it because it was just a make it up as I went along kind of thing.

The second one I used 8 balls of 50g Drops Merino Extra Fine for the main scarf, and nearly another ball for the i-cord edge.

I knit until it’s the length of my outstretched arms palm to palm.

I seal the ends by i-cording all the way round. Just i-cording through 2 stitches either side, then continuing that all around.

Helpful youtubes

The tube is knitted inside out. I’ve just found out that’s not so usual. You should be able to see from the pictures how I do it.
This youtube video shows perfectly how I knit with the tips away from me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKf2A5TnYkg

For the i-cord finish I do it this way https://youtu.be/miMbWk3FW4s but I pull through 2 stitches instead of 1.

I’ve updated the PDF with info about the tube being knit inside out and securing the knots.
