Materials:
About 60g/240m of MC
About 10-15g/40-60m each of six contrast colours

2.5mm dpns/circs or size needed to get gauge.
2.5mm straight needles for the cast on (or circular needles used to knit flat) or size needed to get gauge.
Tapestry needle

You may want to use a larger needle for the cast on, since it’s not particularly stretchy. If you are not confident of your gauge for stranded colourwork, it is worth doing a sample and maybe going up a needle size for this part of the sock (or down a size for the plain section).

Gauge
Over colourwork pattern: 9 stitches, 11 rows per inch.
Over plain stocking stitch: 8 stitches, 12 rows per inch.

This pattern was previously used as part of Sock Madness 11 in 2017.

There is a very helpful tutorial for the twisted garter stitch cast on.
