Inspired by the paper banners (papel picados) shown throughout the movie Coco, I wanted to create the motifs of the butterflies, bows, diamonds, etc. Using the fun colors created by the talented dyers of Knit Dizzney, I put together this easy lace pattern and styled it into a ponchette.

The garment is crocheted into a rectangle to desired length and then wrapped and stitched from the end into the side. Pattern can be adapted in depth and width (guidance in pattern).

Different yarn compositions will vary stretchiness and drape. Keep this in mind when picking your yarn.
