This is a machine knit pattern I developed based on a vintage 1940’s sweater. It was made on a Singer LK100, a basic mid gauge home knitting machine. The ribbing and finishing are done by hand.
It has short, puffed sleeves and a wide waist ribbing. The neckline is finished in a crochet edging. So far the pattern is just in one size but I may add more sizes later. The pattern is simple and could easily be adapted to hand knitting if you have the inclination.
The yarn I used was Knit Picks Wool of the Andes in Sapphire Heather.
Update: Just wanted to add that the stitches came out a bit too stretchy and loose because I was using a yarn that is a little thin for the gauge of my machine so I lightly felted the sweater to make it more stable & dense. I really love how it came out and wear this sweater all the time.
