NOT TO BE SOLD THROUGH YARN SHOPS - this is because it reduces the amount I can give to charity.

This pattern has been designed in memory of my little girl, Lara. All proceeds will be donated to Bliss’ research appeal in her name. Thanks to the CEO of Bliss Charity’s kindness, all funds raised as part of Lara’s Legacy will be directed straight to the research fund and not to any other part of the charity.

In this instance, all proceeds means all monies less fees charged by paypal or the host website.

The socks use a tight cable that mimics the tentacles of her octopus, Penelope, and an embroidery stitch that reminds me of butterflies and butterfly kisses.

Lara Felicity Elizabeth Mills was born at 25+6 at 4:06pm on Sunday 11th February 2018 after I was induced to save her life. She defied the odds by crying and breathing independently and thrived for 32 days, even turning herself over from her tummy to her back at 2 weeks old. Then, suddenly and unexpextedly, at 32 days old on Thursday 15th March 2018 she collapsed. The doctors fought to stabilise her but she slipped away in her daddy’s arms. We promised her a legacy. Our commitment to fundraising in Lara’s name to fund research into prematurity and fetal medicine is part of that. Thank you for supporting this.

Lara, my beautiful precious girl, we love you.
