This roomy basket can be converted into a tote with a pull of the drawstring. It is knit in the round in a single piece, then felted in washing machine. The drawstring is added after felting. The pattern calls for the use of grommets- if you haven’t used grommets before, a complete set with tools sells for $10-15. They are applied with a hammer. Comprehensive instructions are also provided for felting the piece in a washing machine.
