This large Holiday Snowman pattern is very versatile. Hang him as a door or cabinet decoration or use him as a large table mat. However you choose to use him, he’s adorable! He’s about 14.5” tall by about 8” across his widest point. The pattern is fun to crochet. You will want to make at least one for your own holiday décor and several to give as gifts. You might like to personalize the scarf with school or team colors for the college student or sports fan on your gift list.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

G Crochet Hook

Worsted Weight Yarn - I used Red Heart Super Saver in the following six colors: (approximate amounts) White, 50 yards; Black, 8 yards for the buttons and face; Paddy Green, 8 yards for the hat; Cherry Red, 6 yards for the scarf; Light Periwinkle Blue, 2 yards for the snowflake decoration on the hat; Carrot, 1 yard for the nose

1/3 yd of ribbon for hanging (optional)

Stitch markers (optional)

Yarn pins (optional)

Tapestry Needle to weave in ends and embroider face.

SKILL LEVEL: EASY – some experience helpful. The scarf and the hat are a little tricky but if you are patient and follow directions you should do fine. I am always happy to answer customer questions.

GAUGE: Gauge is not important for this project. 7 stitches and 5 rows in HDC are about 2 inches. Your gauge may differ and, if a certain size is important, you may have to adjust your hook size depending on how you crochet and whether you use a different type of yarn.
