Knitting pattern for a large seasonal gnome which sits approx. 30cm/12 inches tall. Decoration for you home all year round. Knit and choose colours from your stash depending on the time of the year, knit one for each season or in your favourite colours.

The pattern has been designed and knit using dk weight (8ply), light worsted yarn held together for most of the pattern. 2 sizes of needle 6.5mm and 3.5mm are needed. Tension/gauge not important but try to use the same make/type of yarn throughout.

Amounts used on the red/white gnome as an example:
Red - 84g, White - 31g, Grey - 4g

There is a small amount of colourwork for the heart on the hat which is fully detailed in the pattern. You could embroider the heart or just knit the hat in one colour if you preferred.

Skills required: knit, purl, increases and decreases by knitting into the front and back of the same stitch to increase and knitting or purling 2 stitches together to decrease. Changing colours.

Full details and a photo tutorial on assembly is also included in the pattern. The pieces are knit separately and then sewn to the body at the end.

The body shows 2 colours held together which gives a nice multi colour finish and texture, but obviously colours are dependant on what you have available/which season you are knitting.

A lovely centrepiece and larger decoration to display all year round. I have put alot of time into the pattern to ensure you can knit along and achieve your own gnome in your chosen colours. Uses a bit more stash/yarn than some of my other patterns but just as fun and a real talking piece.

Happy knitting… more images on cooldenim.
