You may use any yarn to make this toy, just make sure to use correct hook size with your yarn.

You will need following or similar materials to crochet the lion as in the picture:

1. Yarn: o Himalaya Dolphin Baby 80365 – main color, 2 skeins 80359 – shorts, 1 skein 80351 – sweater/shirt, ½ skein o Wolans Bunny Baby No. 19 – mane, 2 skeins No. 02 – muzzle, milky white
2. 2 wooden buttons – 20 mm
3. Crochet hook: o 3.5 mm for the lion and clothing o 4 mm for the mane
4. Safety eyes – 18 mm
5. Safety nose – 20 × 14 mm
6. Polyester fiberfill
7. Yarn needle with a large eye for sewing the parts together
8. Strong cotton thread, 50 cm, for tightening
9. Black YarnArt Jeans yarn for embroidering the eyebrows
10. Scissors

You will only need basic crocheting skills to make this pattern:
