Funny story, when putting the crochet lizard pattern together that you see now, I started with a really tiny lizard. And then made a larger one (new pattern! sigh), and then a larger one, and finally got to this one. But then the feet were all wrong and I made another one with different feet; and the snout was too long (made it look like a dinosaur) so I shortened the snout, and then the lizard seemed too wide in the middle, so I slimmed him down.

And now what you have is a very cute lizard that is a fairly good sized and stands tall.

One tip on making the legs more sturdy: Crochet a row of 10 or 12sc, then add two rows, then roll it up lengthwise and use that as the initial stuffing in the legs. Add polyfil around as filler and you’ve got that extra structure needed for your lizard to stand up proudly.

So let me know what you think, and post some pics to the Crochet By Karin Facebook page, I’d love to see what you come up with for color, decoration, and the like.
