This delightful, 2-colored, Lattice Cloche Hat pattern is part of a Mother and Child Spring Collection with matching sundress (separate pattern) that was inspired by Fabergé Imperial jeweled eggs as an ideal Springtime sun bonnet for the perfect Easter Egg Hunt!

The pattern makes use of a slip stitch technique to create the effect of a delicate lattice overlay. In this deceptively easy technique, the foreground latticed strands or floats are slipped on the right side of the fabric and then lifted to be knit into the stitch above, creating the appearance of a floating woven lattice layer. The resulting fabric appears to be made of two separate layers, with the underlying plain stockinette pattern and a delicate lattice/trellis screen resting intricately atop.

The hat size is suitable for toddlers, and can easily be adjusted to a larger size using needles US (4-6) instead.
