This pattern was developed by Sandy De Master and me for a class to teach lined Latvian Mittens, like our mentor, Irma, always made. A small amount of Nature Spun Fingering is used for the liner and small quantities of 3 colors of Nature Spun Sport are used for the outer mitten. The liner is knit first, then stitches are picked up and an inside facing or hem is knit. A picot row becomes the turning point at the bottom edge of the mitten and the outer mitten is knit to fit over the liner. Lined mittens are wonderfully warm and so comfortable.
