So this is my second design!

This hat was designed for a dear friend of mine who lives up in Montreal. When I saw that teal color at my LYS i knew i need to make this snowflake/snowflower design for her.

This is a great first project or beginner project for those who wanna get start on stranded knitting with simple motifs. It’s great to use up some of the leftover white/cream color yarn from other projects.

Basically you can substitute any worsted weight yarn with the yarn I used. I chose the Plymouth Encore because it’s machine washable and dry able. I am expecting this hat will get wet from all of the snow up in Montreal.

Reason why this is called Latvian snowflake is because in Latvia this snowflake means good luck. I was told by my teacher’s wife who is from Latvia.
