The Laura Creative Beanie is designed for a quick, beginner-friendly knit, perfect for finishing in just a few hours with any yarn you like (chunky yarn is ideal).
It’s great for last-minute DIY gifts and perfect to use up some of your scrap yarns.

The pattern is simple and beginner-friendly, with no complex techniques required, so anyone can give it a go.

For those looking for a little challenge, advanced intructions for knitting short rows at the crown of the beanie are provided at the end of the pattern.

Sizing

The pattern gives measurements for Adult S(M)L, however, if your gauge is different, you will need to calculate your own stitch-count (all explained in de YouTube tutorial).
This beanie can therefore be knit for ANY SIZE you like

Knitting needles
Darning needle

Construction

The beanie is knit flat using a mix of garter stitch and stockinette stitch to create a rectangle. The rectangle is then seamed together using the mattress stitch to create a tube, and the top is closed. Instructions for adding colorful stripes are also included!

Short row version:
When knitting the rectangle flat, short rows are used to shape the crown of the beanie and reduce excess fabric. The rest of the steps remain the same.
