Named for the beloved children’s books author, Laura’s Ingalls Wilder, this new pattern reflects an old lace stitch found in Mary Thomas’s Knitting Book. Laura and Mary were contemporaries.

Last fall I bought my first spinning wheel in Wisconsin at a rustic, restored 19th century farmhouse that was relocated from Laura’s grandparents farm and had connections to the early days of the Ingalls family in Pepin. The building is now being used as a Fiber Studio & Store by Black Cat Farmstead’s owner, Andrea Myklebust, a truly great person.

The white wool in the picture was spun on the wheel.

Enjoy!
