Layette for a Baby - No. 1: The Modesties

This is the first of a series of illustrated articles in which the method of knitting a complete layette for a baby will be described. Next week instructions for making a dress in the same stitch will be published.
MATERIAL required for modesties: 1oz. 2-ply wool and 1 pair No. 9 needles.
SIZE: Seven inches deep.
Note: The number of sts. added or deducted must be divisible by 12 if alteration is to be made in the size.
